HQ

1. HQ has given approval to foreign cadet, Linda Poh, to participate in NCDCC activities w.e.f. 7 May 2008. Cadets are not allowed to quit once they join a UG but in the event that they are discharged, they have to return the uniform, boots etc.

2. HQ has sent the fire safety, total defence (bronze) and footdrill (bronze) badges to KC. Capt Lim will distribute the badges to the Sec 1 and 2 cadets on 14 May and 25 June 2008 respectively. She has updated these achievements in their service sheet. The cadets' service sheets are to be sent to HQ at the end of four years.

3. HQ is organising the SMRT CEP Theory Session for 5 schools on a first-come-first-served basis.

Attire: No. 4 with Jockey Cap

ATC at Changi Coast Adventure Centre for Sec 2 cadets

As part of National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC) program, Sec 2 cadets are required to undergo a 2 day-1 Night Adventure Training Camp (ATC) at Changi Coast Adventure Centre from 30 Oct (0815) to 31 Oct (1300). To build up their confidence and teamwork, they will be engaged in various activities such as Adventure Training Facilities (ATF) and Water bound activity. Apart from that, they will also be moulded into better leaders and team players.

Sec 2 cadets would be briefed on all safety aspects before every activity to ensure an enjoyable and enriching session. Training would also be done in accordance to facility standard procedures and safety regulations. Sec 2 cadets are not allowed to bring mobile phones or other valuables and food.

This post is meant for Shamini, Sarah, Emelia, Qiu Qi and Claire Seow. Please collect your consent form, medical declaration form and packing list from Capt Lim. One-way transport can be arranged.

Adventure Challenge for Sec 1 cadets

DATE: 31 May 2008 (Saturday)
TIME: 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
VENUE: Adventure Centre, Home Team NS Club, Bukit Batok West Ave 7
ATTIRE: PT Kit

1. T-shirt (Sec 1 cadets are advised to wear long sleeved T-shirts to prevent abrasions or mosquito bites)
2. Long track pants
3. Sports shoes with socks
4. Water Bottle
5. Cap (optional)
6. Sunblock lotion (optional)
7. Insect repellent (optional)
[ Sec 1 cadets are not allowed to wear shorts and sandals / slippers during the activities. ]

In this program, Sec 1 cadets would be undergoing confidence training where they would be faced with height elements: Challenge Ropes Course, Rock Wall Climbing and Abseiling. They would also learn to work together as a team as part of their development in this new CCA. This is strictly a challenge by choice program where cadets can choose not to undergo any activity if they think they are not confident enough or are very fearful of the obstacle. Safety aspects are looked into by certified outdoor specialists who are trained to conduct these activities. Sec 1 cadets on medication for that day are to inform the instructors upon arrival.

Sec 1 cadets must take a heavy breakfast before reporting at the Adventure Centre. Halal lunch and one-way transport from school to Home Team NS Club will be provided.

This post is meant for Nerin, Averyn, Tifflin, Givion, Rachel and Yingxuan. Although this activity is free, however, failure to attend after confirmation would incur a cost of $42 per cadet - this is to ensure responsibility of confirmation by cadets.
