Need to nominate 7 NCDCC cadets by 30 Oct

For the first time, Marine Parade Community Emergency and Engagement Committee (C2E) is conducting a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Youth Recruitment Camp from 4 – 6 December 2009 (Friday – Sunday).

The camp objectives are to train and recruit youths coming from different cultural backgrounds and unite for a cause to be ready and respond appropriately to serve the community not only during crisis, but also at peace time. The target group for this camp is between 14 (CERT min age requirement) and 25 years old.

The participating youth will undergo basic Community Emergency Preparedness Program conducted by Singapore Civil Defence Force and sessions sharing by other government agencies and community partners for the participants to understand better and react accordingly to any situation.

> Aim
1. To recruit youths as a Community Emergency Response Team member, develop them into future CERT leaders
2. To better equip them with the proper training and knowledge in responding to various emergency situations and role familiarization as a CERT member
3. Discover individual strengths and response resiliencies to any ituations arise.
4. To support various government agencies (SCDC, Police) and the community (C2E, Community Club, Residence Committee, Community Engagement Program, Community Safety and Security Program) during peace time.
