7th SNCO Course - passing out ceremony on 19 June 2009

Congratulations to Tifflin Tan, the "Best Trainee" out of 108 cadets from more than 25 schools such as ACS(I), Montfort, Coral, St Hilda's, St Pat's, Changkat Changi, Beatty, Evergreen, Northlight, Pei Hwa, Tampines, Bedok South and Pioneer SS! A humble Sec 2 Corporal who managed to outshine the rest, not to mention that there were Sec 3 Sergeants among the SNCOs from other schools. Tifflin has brought honour and glory to the school as the "Best Trainee" award is given to the highest scorer based on turnout, footdrill (silver), method of instructions, discipline and scenario-based learning assessment. All SNCOs (future leaders of the unit) were also assessed on CD Knowledge and Footdrill (Gold).

During the passing out ceremony, Capt Lim saw two HQ officers smiling in her direction and sensed that there was some kind of suspense. Then Capt Gerard prompted her to stand up and get ready to take photographs / video clip. It was such a memorable and touching moment as nobody expected this. Tifflin was surprised and had to give an impromptu speech after receiving the award from Commandant Philip Tham.

HQ approved KC's special request to send 4 Sec 2 cadets and 3 Sec 3 cadets when other schools were only allowed to nominate 4 Sec 3 cadets for the 7th SNCO Course. Thus, it was a blessing in disguise. All passed the training course. This is an achievement. HQ officers were impressed by our KC cadets and we are all proud of you. Well done!
