to be trained as SNCOs.

Footdrill (G), CD Knowledge and leadership training will be included in the SNCO course. However, promotion is not automatic. They must pass the course and be of SGT rank with Footdrill (S), HAZMAT and ATC badges before being promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2010.

Furthermore, they must contribute after completing the SNCO course. The SNCOs are expected to organise the Unit Camp together with SNCOs from Changkat Changi SS. If any one of them is not committed (half-hearted) and does not persevere (gives up easily), the OC Unit will not recommend them for the next promotion.

Each year, the OC unit will nominate 4 Sec 3 cadets to attend the SNCO course. The final decision lies with the OC Unit and TO. Capt Lim does not want the SNCOs to abuse their authority or show off but prefers them to serve the cadets with humility and to set a good example to other cadets.
